yuletide greetings
i have gone to my grandparents house every xmas eve of my entire life. there is a certain smell in their house, like cedar and sugar. it has to be one of the best scents in the entire world, unique only to them. twenty years ago my grandma loaned me a sweatshirt and inside of the pocket was one of her handkerchiefs. i brought it to my nose and inhaled deeply, the scent of comfort and love. i still have that handkerchief and i put it in a little sealed bag. the scent is faint but still present and i cherish it.
drew and i have been able to spend the last fifteen christmas eves together and we hope you all are able to celebrate this Yuletide holiday season with those you love.

sweet story. I did a similar thing when my last Grandmother passed. They had to shave her hair off which was a big deal and would have devastated her. They allowed us to take her hair and keep it before she passed and I was given a lock of her silver and grey curls in a silver heart shaped box which i then sealed in a plastic bag, i still smell it from time to time when I want to be comforted. sorry for the sappy story, just wanted to share 🙂
