how can you tell if your kid is autistic? i wonder if i would of been considered autistic as a child? I certainly was a peculiar child, my favorite activity was sitting in the dark cupboard eating a raw onion like an apple and drawing on the insides of my parents cabinetry with a black crayon.

mom and dad didn’t seem to mind my behavior. After all how much trouble can a little onion eater get into while confined in a small, dark space? It was probably pretty nice for them, being young parents in the 70s. A little break from my endless dance routines and songs about dead kittens.

But these days it seems like every kid has autism or something similar that needs medication. I worry about what is causing this and find myself watching my nephew Kayden too closely for odd behavior… but I can’t tell what is odd versus just being a toddler. I’m sure that has to be the worst thing for parents, not knowing. You don’t know why this happened to your baby, what you can do to fix it, what course of treatment is best for them.

You can only trust your instinct.

I recently came across this video on youtube and it was interesting because the parents are asking, “Is this autism?”. Now, I’m not a doctor nor do I have any idea what the hell I am even talking about but this video MADE ME FEEL AUTISTIC! I couldn’t handle all the noise and the shrill piercing voice of the parent calling his child’s name over and over and over.
Silence is golden my friends, we all need it sometimes.

Kill your television.

I know I totally freak out when there are too many sounds, too many people talking to me. Does that make me autistic or just human?
